Nooh Dastgir Butt (Olympian)

Nooh Dastgir Butt is a well-known Pakistani weightlifter who has recently been in the news because he won the gold medal 109+kg division at weightlifting in Commonwealth Games 2022.
He was born on 3 February 1998 in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan. He belongs to a Kashmiri weightlifting family.
His father’s name is Ghulam Dastgir Butt who is also a well-known weightlifter. He is known for participating in international weightlifting events. He is also a coach of Nooh. His brother’s name is Hanzala Dastgir Butt who is also a weightlifter. He also participated in CWG 2022.

Nooh Dastgir Butt is presently 24 years old.

n the 105+ kg weightlifting event at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Nooh Dastgir Butt took home the bronze medal.

At the junior Commonwealth Games championships held in Penang, Malaysia in 2016 and Pune, India in 2015, he also took home a bronze medal. In the junior championships, he set a junior commonwealth record by lifting 395 kg.

Nooh Dastgir Butt captured Pakistan’s first gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games on August 3 when he triumphed in the men’s +109 kg weightlifting competition.
